I thought this below would be interesting for us to know. Minds has been mentioned on here before, and decentralisation and fighting big tech is good, so...

We are excited to announce that Minds has closed a $10M Series B to continue the fight for Internet freedom. Please take a moment to read our blog about the funding round and what we have planned.

Thank you for being a pioneer of the free and open Internet!

Series B Financing
Series B financing is the second round of funding for a business through investment, including private equity investors and venture capitalists. Successive rounds of financing a business are consecutively termed Series A, Series B, and Series C financing. The Series B round generally takes place when the company has accomplished certain milestones in developing its business and is past the initial startup stage.

In case you missed it, we announced last week that we have closed a $10M Series B from FUTo_Org, a new organization founded to develop technology and promote policies that give control of computers back to the people.

This is a huge win for Minds and the greater movement towards building technology that puts the people first, so we want to sincerely thank all of you for helping us get to where we are today. Minds would be nothing without its community and all of your support.

We are also thrilled to begin our new partnership with FUTO, as they are aligned on our mission and share our core principles:

  • Fully open source code for maximum transparency and accountability
  • First Amendment-based content policy to minimize bias and censorship and encourage civil discourse (you can only change someone's mind if you give them a place to speak it)
  • Privacy that leverages encryption and opt-out by default standards to protect your personal data

Moving forward, our immediate goal is to find amazing people and developers who can help us build the technology we all need to scale and protect digital rights.

If you are interested in helping:

In the coming months, we will continue to publish more blogs that outline our plans and progress. We also plan to develop more tools and better processes that will enable increased community participation and communication.

Thank you again for being a pioneer of the free and open internet,
The Minds Team
