Methods for Counting Without a Satanic Rosary

I wanted to share something I found very useful in my meditations that may be of some help to others.

This by no means isn't meant as a better alternative to a Satanic Rosary but it's something I personally find just as easy.

The method I'm referring to is using American Sign Language (ASL) to count. You can quite literally count to 1-trillion with one hand and if done enough times it becomes subconscious (up to a certain number anyway, which for me is 100).
I often use it to count months, days of the week, etc.

For the sake of utmost simplicity I typically only use numbers 1-10 during meditation. I'll also share a couple of bonus tips/tricks.

https://i.ibb.co/xC34ctf/ASL-1-10.jpg

As you can see in the image above number '3' is signed with an extended thumb and number '10' is signed simply by shaking a fist left and right with your thumb extended. (You can skip the shaking part when using it for meditating). As well, numbers 6 to 9 start from the smallest finger (pinky) progress to the index finger.

Now if you count 1-10 with your dominant (typically right) hand you can then use your submissive hand (counting 1-10) to keep track of multiples of 10. Once you reach 5 (50) and need to count further you would need to keep a metal note of how many successions of this number you have completed. I usually achieve this by visualizing the number. (Eg. 3 x 50 = 150)

Now for a very interesting bonus trick I found. This doesn't pertain to ASL and can be done by anyone at anytime.

When doing the FRTR and counting multiples of 9 I found an easy method for keeping track.

Place your dominant hand (palm facing down) on your lap, chair or bed. During each vibration gently place steady pressure on each of your fingers starting from your thumb. (Yes I know it's 'technically' not a finger).
Now move to the index finger and continue until you reach your pinky (that's 5).
Now start from your index finger and move to your pinky (that's 4).

And thus you have a very quick and easy way to keep track of counting to 9. I hope I didn't overwhelm you too much and I wish everyone all the best in their growth and development. If you made it up to this point then you get a gold star. :)

Use an app to count repetitions.

That's a good idea. I might try it out on my computer and see how it goes. I don't carry a cellphone due to potential long-term health implications. This is not out of fear but rather to mitigate any possible health affects from EMF exposure. There's a good article on this: https://news.berkeley.edu/2021/07/01/health-risks-of-cell-phone-radiation/

Still, for the long repetitions I'm personally very comfortable using ASL. I have been signing for 12 years and have a certificate in it so ASL may not be subconscious for everyone.

For the short ones tapping my fingers with steady pressure works quite well for me. It also allows one to close their eyes and use visualization when vibrating letters and visualizing their destruction. This is quite powerful in these workings.

A Satanic Rosary works great too. In the end whatever works best for the individual should be done.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Woops, I wrote in my main post you'd need to keep a mental note once you reach 5. I should've put 10 there. 10 repetitions of 10 (10x10) equals 100 and thus is the maximum number one can count to without thinking about counting using this method.

Again, this would probably take the average person a bit of practice. If anyone is interested here's a 40-second video that gives a good demonstration. (All the other ones are cringy!)
