Although I agree with you and you're absolutely right , at least from my own experience I could say that listening to such songs like being sad and listening to sad things made me sadder indeed but it helped me releasing this sadness entirely from within my soul by crying it out completely so they can also be beneficial , indeed getting lost onto your own sadness and bad energies and emotions and so on so forth can be dangerous and harmful , sometimes they can also be path to clearance , they at least been to me.
