Replace your tendency toward degeneration (i.e., vices) with something that is advancing for yourself. You need not always succeed perfectly from the beginning, but have a progression toward an ideal of perfection that in itself is unattainable, but serves well as an inspiration to always do our best with our actions.
Every being in this universe functions through a concept of progressive advancement concerning the various aspects of his life and what he himself is. There is no one who is really worth anything who does not fall within these parameters and the smallest of humans to the most absolute of Gods, fall within these terms of the need for constant advancement, which of course work differently, depending on the various levels in which one finds himself, but which in themselves are generally universally valid.
Because this concept is complex, I will give you some practical examples. Whoever you see of advanced today did not come straight out of his mother's womb like that. But he made personal progress because he really wanted to make it, and will does not exist without concrete actions. Potential will is an illusory state of mind. As it becomes active, it is formed in a concrete way and then manifested.

This maturity--he gained it because he had the tendency in his soul to become great. He noticed it, saw that himself and the Gods were the most valid reasons for existing, and instead of considering the importance of laziness he listened to the importance of the Gods and himself. He simply followed the process that was his nature, which was to advance. And he did not prefer to opt for something against nature toward his soul as blocking his own advancement. It did not matter if Tiktok had released a new video, or Netflix had released the 31st episode on the same day. The Gods, himself and His Role related to these Gods.... understood that this call was more important than the call of the 31st episode that day.
You are all the children of Zeus. You are ALL sons and daughters of Zeus.
