The international phonetic alphabet is an alphabet that has every letter for every sound that exists in spoken languages of Earth.
This is great because spelling of letters and words can be transcribed to IPA, from any language, and this makes it possible for everyone to know how a given word sounds like, how it is pronounced.
This would have a great use on the forums and on JoS because there are usually some concerns about the pronunciation of mantras and all. These could be transcribed to IPA.
(as a plus linguistic knowledge, a phonetic alphabet tells you how to spell exactly a letter, and has one letter for each possible sounds, a phonemic alphabet has as many letters as many different sounds a given language has, but doesn't determine the exact pronunciation of these sounds. Phonemic alphabets are very common in European languages, outside of English.
If you want to learn a language, this will be very helpful for you, especially if you can't have much auditory input in that given language (ancient languages!!)
Furthermore, I'll try to transcribe and gather the mantras we use and transcribe it to IPA (after getting good in this practice), so we have a straight forward guide to pronounce them.
