Greetings
I study geology for a long time now, and even thou I enjoy the classes, I hated the actual work, more than anything before. Tried different geology related jobs, but never felt so bored before. I looked my natal chart, there are several houses and planets that means good scientific thinking, talent or interest to scientific works, but I dint have any of those. I have a few that means good writing skills, creativity and morbid curiosity, and in fact, I enjoy writing horror stories. Should I just drop geology and go to a writer by this? I doubt you could make a living from writing

Stick with geology and start writing on the side. Over time if you find a good way to make a good profit from this, publish your works and then transition fully into being a writer if it becomes enough money for your needs.

Never just step away from your career if you can help it. With how things are currently in the world, you need a job secured before you leave, or tread very carefully.

I ended up unemployed for 5 months the last time I left a job, this market can be very frustrating, and you should be cautious.

I feel horrible about it so far, like I just wasted a lot of years, a bigger fortune and a big partion of my health to university for something I dont even enjoy

Write a book about geology, minerals or the link between occultism and minerals.

Some career are long to start because they require a lot of maturity, knowledge and are based on not very concrete elements, it's unmarketable.

In fact you wasted nothing, what you have learned in the process make you what you are becomed today, a half scholar, and you are more precious than a standard logistician.

Being in a similar case, I also talk for me :
You don't emanate anything concrete, your solar chakra is not sufficiently strong, you don't attract success and periodically burn out.
You turn around your chart to discover who you already are when in fact you must develop other capacities
Impose your talents, be the hero of your horror stories and scare us ;)

I formulate it like this because artistic activities reflects parts of ourselves and help us to understand what is emerging in us.
My artistical stuff is music

At the very least having a formal education and some experience on that field is a great backup for you to have. It was not a waste because you have received life experience and a backup plan from that. Try to look things like this. ;)

Astrology can be a bit more complex, and I’m not sure how much you know or how much you’ve read, but I assume you have a general idea of where to look when it comes to certain aspects, like in this case, regarding "career." From an astrological perspective, here’s what I can tell you:

Look at the 10th house, as it governs your career, and the 2nd house, which relates to money—how you earn it, how you use it, and how you attract it. These two houses are key when it comes to career and finances. It also depends on what you truly want. Are you looking to make money, or are you more focused on building a career? Obviously, a career can bring in money, but from what I see, it seems like you might not enjoy the career path you've chosen. Perhaps you picked it because it felt like the best option at the time, but it’s not really what you want to do.

For many people, it’s not even about the money as long as they’re doing something they love, and I totally get that. But every person is different, so I can’t generalize without knowing more about you and your circumstances. However, I can give better guidance once I understand more about what you’re looking for, based on what I’ve gathered and my own perspective.

As I mentioned earlier, these are the two key houses to focus on, but you should also pay attention to the Midheaven (which is your 10th house). Look at the sign your Midheaven is in, and also the sign in your 10th house in the natural zodiac (the 12 natural houses). Basically, you’ll want to check what sign is ruling your 10th and 2nd houses. Now, you should also consider any planets that are between 0-10 degrees—those between 0-3 degrees are especially important. These planets not only influence your career but also have a major impact on your entire life, past, present, and future, as well as on who you are as an individual.

This is what expert astrology is about—looking at the person born at a specific time and place. I see astrology as the 'book of the universe'. I don’t want to go too deep into this right now, as I want to share more advanced astrology topics later on.

Take a look at the aspects of your Midheaven and see what other planets connect with your 10th house. I think this site is good: astro-charts.com. After you enter your details, scroll down to see what planetary aspects you have with the Midheaven, like Pluto aspecting your Midheaven (conjunction, square, etc.). Check how many planets are associated with your Midheaven.

When it comes to "career," it’s a bit more complicated because the North Node governs someone’s future and their greatest potential. It shows what one "should" do to evolve into their best self. But before reaching that point, we need to first understand where we are, so I’d suggest taking a look at that as well.

At least now you’re aware that you’re not happy with where you are and what you’re doing, and that’s a good thing. Being conscious of it and wanting to change it is the path toward more progress and happiness. You know that you can’t turn back time, so dwelling on regrets will only affect your present and hold back your potential progress. Instead, try to figure out what you’d truly enjoy.

For example, you mentioned that you have certain skills, but then you seemed to downplay them. Maybe deep down you know you have them but didn’t fully believe in yourself when you said it, or maybe you’re not aware of what lies within you on a deeper level—and that’s okay. Not everyone knows everything about themselves. You definitely have those qualities, as represented by the planets, but you need to bring them to the surface and practice them.

You know the saying, "Talent is worthless without effort" (Saturn), so yes, bring out your talents and skills. Do what you want to do and focus on what makes you happy, not just what brings a paycheck. As for when you said you can't make money from writing, you don't really know if that's true, and neither do I. But if we think about it, everything is written and everything makes money—everything. Get it?

If, for example, you’re drawn to poetry or certain types of writing, know that not everyone has your kind of mind to create something like that. Many people would love to read such stories. You have a fascinating mind, and you should use it to do what you love, not what keeps you trapped. Best of luck, my friend!
