Whats your opinion on merchant races which are not Jewish?

For example the Parsis and Jains of India are thought to be merchant races who try to sell their products to foreign races for profit (from what I understand).

Do you think non-Jewish merchant races should be trusted or avoided in general?

I always try to support with my spendings decent persons/businesses.

Jains preach extreme self-deprivation, to the point of some sects not even allowing men to own or wear a single scrap of clothing. Kooky shit like that automatically makes me wary.
