If I'm not mistaken, that false information was put up on Joy of Satan's old website years before Maxine even became HP. As has been mentioned before also, the "gold mining" is allegorical, relating to empowering and purifying our chakras and completing the Magnum Opus, turning the chakras to "gold".

I think it's in Enuma Elish as well. Probably a long time ago when humans were very little evolved on a soul level. Satan's generation of gods decided to raise us and "upgrade" us to a different level i think.

In nature you can create a simple tool for a simple purpose or enhance it later. I guess Satan and the Gods on his side saw a lot of potential in humans and enhanced our souls to be abke to evolve at their level.
