Is hypopressure a good idea for strengthening the abdominal muscles and working with the kundalini energy? I know it works great on the deep muscles, but I wonder if it can be used in meditation and supported by the breath of fire.

Generally speaking, physical/breathing exercises are going to increase the flow of energy. You can add visualization/focusing on the chakras while doing the exercises.

A week or so ago I saw large dog sitting in the back of someones truck super chill (not sure of the breed), maybe 180lbs. Was thinking I bet that dog barely works out yet it could throw me around. Then I notice he was doing that rapid panting breath dogs do and it reminded me of breath of fire. My thought was I wonder if that how dogs stay in shape when they don't get enough exercise. I did a very shallow but rapid breath from the solar plexus while walking home (trying to stay over 90 breaths a minute). While walking home mid speed trying not look too suspicious. It felt like jogging. Was planning to test it out more because seemed to work on a similar level as hypopressure (hypopressive?) and it hit the pelvic to solar plexus area nicely.

For some reason I forgot to try again, thanks for posting this indirect reminder. A person can always take a few full breaths if they are struggling vs running where you can't catch your breath making it interesting. Might have to go for a walk now. It takes a lot of focus to do making it meditative and should help with kundalini. Need to test this method out.

Update: Did a quick lap trying the breathing technique while walking. Didn't get the same results as last week, will need to try again on an empty stomach. Couldn't get the right core tension and breathing rhythm for pulling from the pelvic region where the root chakra is. I'll try a few more times to see if there is anything to this. Also might be a bad idea for anyone new to breathing exercises try them while walking.

It's better to do breathing exercises when relaxed, as they're not gymnastics.

Bandhas (locks) can be used to direct and control energy. In some instances applying a bandha is part of the exercise, like with the breath of fire you mentioned. https://satanisgod.org/Bandhas.html

Breath of fire is going to increase the vo2max, also known as maximum oxygen uptake, and consequently metabolic rate, but it is not meant to replace physical exercise. It works as a great complement, though. Also, Pranayama is ideally done in a relaxed state.

True about the max o2, which I why wanted to mix it with walking although the technique feels funny. It was more a try it out idea and see what happens not really a proper technique. The results seem mixed so far. Its based on an observation of a dog not any actual research.

I like meditating while walking since its harder to enter and maintain a trance with all the distractions. People react to the qi if the trance is good its a nice environmental feedback. All for stacking breathing exercise on top of a walking meditation, not sure if this is the right technique.

True, but if the tolerance is high enough, doing fast full breaths can really push the exercise. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone new to breathing exercises because it might cause some people to blackout. I've found vo2max breathing with exercises better for spiking energy levels over meditation. Doing a basic exercise routine with breathing exercises into sit down relaxed meditation is almost guaranteed deep trance. A quick vo2max exercise set and then sitting down and doing https://satanisgod.org/Tuning.html to drop the heart rate is potent mix. Followed by a passive meditation with shallow breathing turns into a quick void meditation. Again disclaimer there is a potential risk of blacking out if someone is new to breathing exercises,

I suppose if you can hold the root lock while maintaining movement that's fine, otherwise not a very good practice.

Why it was a test/idea, when I could get the breathing rhythm right it did a nature keagle exercise pulling up the abs up into the solar plexus. Its easier to do standing still, didn't get great results with it, due to poor technique. Its a lower priority (I'll play with it some more) can't seem to sustain the rhythm for more than short burst. Potentially it could be a great way to draw energy into the solar chakra and work the core. Trial and error.

With the breath of fire pranayama, the root lock is applied for the whole exercise. It is unlike doing kegel exercises.
