A little hard to understand but given I'm a rambler and a colorful speaker it's not like I can judge. So from one confusing soul to the another I bid you welcome to the Joy of Satanas, the assembly of the Gods.

First off ascension is earned not given so there is a kernel of Truth to that statement in that "deserved" is what you yourself grant. Through old teachings, reading of esoteric texts, and more we can prove to ourselves our Faith. I've had runes personally work for me and do something wonderous for me. I can now stomach food. I can eat once more instead of slowly dying. This saved me and while the Gods aided me I also had to take that step. To put forth in the effort into proving I was worthy enough to give energy and aid too. In a way like how someone trying to shed an addiction needs to prove it by doing what they can to remake themselves. Trying to quit is a step in the right direction because to never try at all means you don't even care. Those who care are always rewarded for their efforts and it is those small steps that matter. They collect and become larger just like the work it takes on raising the Sacred Serpent. This work is what makes one deserving of it.

The Gods aid us in this like a parent wanting to teach their children to drive you also have to let them swerve a little side to side while your hand is there to grab onto the wheel to truly guide just in case. The same is true for here because they let you push on the gas petal itself. Only someone who truly loves the upmost you would put that much trust and faith in you even with all the hardships this low level of vibrational existence has. Even if you want it to not be true suffering causes you to raise yourself up. Hardship teaches you lessons and by having a collective ( your tribe ) there around you to aid you one can also form bonds. These bonds of trust increase the wealth of society by also increasing the value each person has and can offer to the greater good. A truly just and proper culture has a society that is filled with the sort of people who not only look out for each other but guard each other with a parent like ferocity, so long as they are worthy. In a proper collective everyone becomes worthy because everyone is working to the same goals by also always raising the worthy up and out casting the corrupters of said society.

With this in mind the question I'd have for your friend would be "if you truly are someone with a spark of Divinity who are you to not try and show others the path giving you are not the first?" There is no handing out in that statement but the onus still remains on why that person would so arrogantly believe that the teachings they got from others should be kept to themselves. This is why honoring ones ancestors is so meaningful because you have to truly understand you are always building on what came before. In this you can plainly see either someone is being truly evil and unjust or is an outright liar by keeping said info to themselves. In either case they should be ignored. Why associate yourself with someone of such low character?
