If you find a website containing precious information that you wish to keep, there is always the risk of it being shut down by entities who does not want this information to be public.

I encourage everyone to use this program: "Httrack"
http://www.httrack.com/

It allows you to download entire copies of websites, including all images, to your computer. That way, if the website is shut down, you will still have the copy on your computer.

I do this with the Joy of Satan websites, and other websites with very important information. Also save it to an external hard drive or a USB key, in case your computer dies.

IN CASE THE WEBSITE IS ALTERED, AND YOU DO NOT HAVE A COPY:

You can find old versions of websites using this online tool:

http://archive.org/web/web.php

It allows you to "go back in time" and see previous versions of websites on specific dates. It even works for websites that are no longer online. Just type in the URL and select a date.

Great tip, thanks.

HAIL SATAN!!

But there are people who can't get anything from the online store since they live with there parents and there parents might feel the need to know what you got in the mail. If you can though go for it if not this is a good way to have information handy when something happens to a website.

Thank you very much for the useful program. :)
I usually rely on the archive.org all the time, but its not really reliable on websites that don't allow web crawlers / are obscure, from my experience.

While we're at this, does anyone have a program just like Chronos XP for OSX/Mac?

Thank you!
Hail Satan!

I never used Mac, but this screensaver seems to do what you're looking for:

Not sure though, but try it!
