Did he seriously think that he could launch himself to 5000 feet with a backyard rocket? And that he would come out alive on the ground?

I think maybe when Space Travel becomes more mainstream, such as in like 2 or 3 decades hopefully, these people can board some Space Bus and just go for a tour around earth.

Still however I am not sure if they will ever be convinced, they may say that the windows are actually a screen and that the Government lies to them, and that it's all a video. Even if one is kicked out in open space with a suit, they will say that they are in some simulation in Nevada or something.

Thing is unless he reaches like double or triple the amount of feet, he will never see that the earth is actually round because the surface is too big, or get any visual hints to it at all. He has to fly higher than many airplanes to start even seeing blatant a curvature to it.

I think he at least had big balls other than that he was really stupid.

Just watch this video and you'll see that what I mean, you need to go very high to see actually a curvature, which due to a fish eye lens.

This is around 1000ft and people have went upwards to 25,000ft with this which is I think the world record. That's what I'd be doing if I was a normie, that is for sure. Also, it doesn't look like all these people even report a "Flat Earth" at all when they come down or anything.

That guy had courage and even was able to build his own rocket. However one can note the earth is round by the phases of the moon that is where curvature appears. The Flat Earth is the attempt to bring Christian Creationism into the mainstream by using the Truther community.
