I know that the black cat is very stereotypical to have, considering that we're Satanists. Although, there is nothing wrong with having one. Hitler very much loved animals. The animal he personally owned was a German Shepherd named Blondi. I suppose its all about personal preference. Sometimes we have things that come our way for some sort of purpose. It took me a while to realize what was going on. I used to think that it was "evil spirits" who would "harass" me when I was a lot younger. I'd always have spirits that would call me by name as I was going to sleep. My black cat that I had would come up to me on my bed to comfort me, letting me know that everything was all right. I guess that was his way of saying, "Its all right, those spirits are not evil" as I look back at it. Also, at one time I owned a Louisiana Catahoula that would chase off strangers (sometimes hunters) that would come into the wooded area that I lived in. I don't think its a
horrible thing that you got a black cat. The problem is the people who feel that they need to have a black cat as if it automatically gives some sort of occult image. I think that Satan brought this cat to you for some reason.

That is really inspiring and has me wondering about my situation.
I have (under protest) inherited a stereo typical Familiar; a black cat.
It's all about her stomach but she does have this unusual habit of sitting on top of me when I meditate (I lie down and she sits on my stomach). I think she enjoys the energy and does not seem to care about the amazing things my body goes through.
Hail Satan and give me guidance.

A while back, after getting settled into my new home, I moved my dog in with me. I am awaiting the savings for a fence for my yard as my dog has been mostly outside until now. I wasn't totally sure he was my familiar until I noticed how he is perfectly calm with me wheter I'm inside or outside. If he is away from me he gets extremely upset (even if he is with other people). But, I really was certain when, as this is my first real time away from family, an old problem that I had long forgotten about occured. I quit breathing in my sleep only to awake at the same moment I gasped for air, my dog was right there with his snout on my face. He has a blanket in my room where he sleeps and to my knowledge he was asleep when I first drifted off, but as I encountered this situation he was already awake taking care of me!
