Empty houses

Can anyone help me understand what it means to have empty houses in the birth chart?

This simply means that the affairs ruled by that house are not as important in your life.

Look to the sign on the cusp of the house, to see how that house plays out in your life. (Some people take this to mean that the house should be read as the same as the planet that rules the sign is in the house, this is incorrect. Just because a planet rules a sign, does not meant the planet and sign are the exact same. For example, Capricorn on the cusp of the 2nd is not the same as Saturn in the 2nd.)

@LydiaI asked a question about houses in someone's thread lol but I can't find it now. It was financial, career related second, 6th and tenth house too maybe. 
I asked, my second house is empty and has a chiron. My 18th house is empty too I think if I remember and planet Pluto is in my 6th house.  I hope I remember it all right.  ?

So, how to interpret this all? What does it all mean

I'm still at the beginning of this astrology process, though i still have to learn more about my own chart.
