I've read blackdragon's introduction to astrology and in the 6th lesson we talked about "Election astrology" where we look at the best time to start a new venture. I was wondering, since I'm working on being an author I'd like to know if I can plan out the perfect dates to start writing books.
If this is a legitimate practice, how would one even use this? Would you make a chart the moment you start writing the book, or when you come up with the idea? I'm guessing when you start writing as that's the start of the "venture", but maybe when you come up with the idea is when it's "birthed"?

Timing astrology (electional astrology) is the method of the most favorable time to start something. This can and should combine with each other the horary to the question of whether you should do this in principle, as the likelihood of developing a particular area. But so is the selection of favorable personal transits for starting work.

A fairly good time will be a strong transit of Mercury through your personal 10th house. There are also aspects of Mercury with the ruler of your 5th house (responsible for creativity). I would also consider aspects to the rulers of the 3rd house.

Horary can be used if you have doubts about the advisability of taking on a task or not. Suitable transits will be the answer to how to maximize the efficiency of your activities.

Don't start new tasks of this type on a Moon VoC and Mercury retrograde.

Would you also take the moon sign into consideration for starting a book? I like the idea of starting a book during the moon in leo for Leo's fire/fixed personality. also For the "attracting center stage, and creativity" part of it.

One thing about me is, when it comes to the 3rd house ruler - I don't have one. I have a planet there, but no sign cusp. In this case what would be the ruler? Thank you

Sorry, it turns out my last answer was not moderated.

Firstly, you 100% have a ruler of the 3rd house. You need to look at which sign the cusp (beginning) of the 3rd house falls in and the planet that rules this sign will be the ruler of the house. For example, if your 3rd house falls in Aries, then the ruler of the 3rd house will be Mars.

In addition, you can also do magic for the success of your idea, and then the position of the Moon will be important. A strong waxing Moon in Leo would be a good solution.

Planets in the 3rd house indicate your interest and communication, working with information and how these areas work in your life.

Virgo placements or stellium are great indicators of this.
