To them, they think eating Pork is against their religious doctrine. This is so because they look at pigs as dirty animals!!

Pigs used to be kept in very disgusting conditions, and were very likely to have parasites. So people would get sick from eating them, especially if it is not cooked enough. Modern farming now is much more careful about keeping them in a good condition with no diseases or parasites. But they still have a risk of some parasites, and it is important to cook it enough to kill anything that might be in there. Like with chicken, it has to be cooked all the way.

There's also a risk of getting very sick from things like clams and oysters, especially if they are not kept refrigerated at a very low tempurature which they did not have then. So some people got very sick or died from eating these.

This is the reason why they don't eat pork or shell fish. Because enough of them got very sick from eating them that they decided that it's not a good idea.

I love my meat, but I have mine really well done, it has to be cooked very well! Especially my chicken and steak 🥩 well every meat to be exact

It's not just pig meat there are a lot of other restrictions on meat in abrahamic faiths and some denominations practice the garden of eden diet of just fruits and vegetables while others ban it on holy days and treat meat eating as a nessasary evil. The Romans relied heavily on pork for the nutrition and protein in their diet as did other Pagan societies. Pork and fish was the cheap meat at the time with poultry and beef being expensive.

Meat was always understood as being the heathiest thing you could eat and other food were considered side dishes, snacks, garnishes or eaten because they were cheap or easy. Eating meat is the best thing you could do for your heath and some people have even cured longstanding chronic conditions like diabetes. The banning of pork is a way to damage the human diet as now they would be reduced to eating the occasional bird and fish with more focus on things like bread. This restriction was done in a way that was not too extreme so that people would follow it.

Pigs in cities were critical for eating garbage and the removal of them would mean trash would simply pile up stink then vermin would come, Ironic considering that the reason given by jews was cleanliness.

Can you imagine the incompatibility that takes place in India? Roughly 80% worship cows, while the remaining rest hate pork. That a straight way to a civil war!

Anyway, I encourage you to read about Ritual slaughter, what a barbarian practice it is. Once banned in a civilized countries would probably reduce a bit number of cultural invaders.
