There was a discussion within our Live Ritual Temple where someone asked about Muhammad's predictions "coming true", and other concepts this character allegedly wrote in the Hadith, Quran and whatever else. I was asked by a Guardian to turn my reply into a post, so it isn't lost.
It did get me to see that, while the lies of Jesus have mostly been heavily debunked, partially due to Europe's descent into reactionary atheism in the modern age (whereas zealous religiosity is still popular in Arabia and the middle East and has yet to have this collective pushback), Muhammad's garbage has not been touched upon.
Let this post act as an invitation for two things:
1. Study the Islamic Evil site. I have a strong feeling based on the dialogues seen in the Ritual temple and in the Forums that this site goes unnoticed, and a lot of work was put into filling it with knowledge. Even if Islam is not a factor in your society where you live, you might still stand to gain some useful insight.
2. When you have an issue of not understanding something, or being curious about something, having a question, never underestimate the power of simply doing your own research. Everything that will be said here I was able to find with a short google and a few minutes spent with ChatGPT. Very surface level research that even the person who posed the question could've done (no harm to you if you're reading this, better to ask than to remain ignorant).
The person asking was annoyed with the fact that Muslims keep touting their "scientific realizations", and this person was wondering where they might come from, and "how Muhammad knew these".
They specifically mentioned a Hadith predicting skyscrapers, and the Quran predicting the fact that iron comes from meteorites.
Firstly, Muhammad never existed. The earliest accounts of him are dated several decades after his alleged death, and the Hadiths and sira (biography of Muhammad) appeared over a century afterwards.
Additionally, there isn't a single non-Islamic historical source attesting Muhammad's existence. Ironically, this means Jesus theoretically has more evidence of his existence, because there actually were many jewish figures at the time when jesus is claimed to have lived, that considered themselves to be potential Messiahs, and held apocalyptical beliefs that contradicted the pharisee movement in Judea. That being said, Jesus is a character that is only based on these jewish apocalyptical rabbis, and didn't himself live.
Secondly, many of these breakthroughs are exaggerated or reaches. An example of this is the skyscrapers.
"You will see the barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings."
- Sahih Muslim 8 Hadith, Sahih al-Bukhari 50
This quote about the "skyscrapers" essentially means "in the last days, people will pointlessly go after material achievements". It's just more of abrahamic religion saying the material world is pointless and you shouldn't care about it. The usual nonsense. Additionally, to go from "they will build tall buildings" to "Islam predicted skyscrapers" is mental gymnastics. If it was referring to buildings that were hundreds of feet tall, and "Muhammad" actually made that prediction, the size would be specified as it would make the prediction clearer. There is no reason to not just assume this refers to what would've been considered tall at the time.
Thirdly, many of these breakthroughs are stolen. An example of this is the iron statement.
"And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people..."
- Surah Al-Hadid 57:25 (I couldn't find the Quran quote)
This points to iron not being from Earth, which is true. Iron mostly came from meteorites.
But, again, Muhammad does not exist and never existed. This wisdom is stolen.
In ancient Egyptian, iron is called "bia-en-pet" (translated as "metal of the sky"), so this info was not new.
The Hitites and other ancient Mesopotamians also had myths about iron being a gift from the Gods, and so do certain Greek texts.
So, plenty of places they could've stolen this from.
To recap the goal of this post, read the Islamic Evil site, and practice research and study.
