Evolution is a fact. take a salamander or other creature and if they move to live in a cave [total darkness] for years and years, their eyes will cease to exist, their pigment will turn white and their offspring will be born with the adaptation to live in the cave, not in the outer world. This is a fact.
Another fact is genetic engineering. Cloning, gene splicing and eugenics are also factors in determining the traits of offspring. Evolution is of nature and natural. Genetic engineering is of applying scientific knowledge to create controlled changes.
Both are valid.
