I am getting back to an old love and obsession of mine - calendars. These systems of marking, measuring and keeping track of time were very important to our ancestors. Why? What can you gain from having an accurate calendar and perceiving the patterns of time as precisely as possible? Well, I believe there's everything to gain. With decent astrological knowledge and the real numerological meaning behind all of the things that exist and happen in this universe, we can achieve true mastery over nature/ourselves, plan society, steer it in the right direction, basically do anything and everything.

Now to get closer to my question. I found an old drawing of a calendar I was working on that got to a certain point where it had to be paused. My mathematical, astronomical and historical knowledge was much narrower than it is now and I got to a dead end banging my head against a wall trying to figure out how it all worked. The 72 year cycle which we know as 1 degree in the procession was transposed over a 54 year cycle and when you divide a circle in 12 and 16 parts respectively, these meet at 360/0 degrees on the 864 year mark.

So, to all brothers and sisters with knowledge and brain power that exceeds mine, please help me out in making sense of this. I know what 72 is but what is the root meaning of 54?

A milankovich cycle is not divisible by 864 yet I feel there must be some connection here, a piece of the puzzle that I'm missing. Anyone?

I will post a picture of the drawing mentioned above very soon.

I’d just like to clarify in this thread (in which I recommended OP Hesiod and Evola) I said SATURN not Satan would drive you mad; perhaps this was stupid. I have respect of Father Saturn as time and the necessary corodder however it is important to note his somewhat volatile nature.

* precession (instead of procession)

Also what I forgot to mention is that at the time I was reading about archeological finds somewhere in siberia where an unknown culture had constructed something similar (without the diagram in the middle of course) with large circular holes in the ground all arranged in two concentric circles with a huge diameter. This was something neolithic and reflected superior math skills and it worked with the surrounding landscape like mountain peaks and passes. Sorry I can't find links to that, it was a few years ago plus finds like that tend to get suspiciously buried, forgotten or discredited pretty soon after they're published. Anyway it wasn't the only source or inspiration behind it. In the diagram I tried to incorporate some of the math pertaining to the smaller and larger divisions of time. The mayan, the hijri and many others both solar and lunar were taken into account but the main idea was to merge modern scientific knowledge and "lost" knowledge from previous civilizations in order to make a more accurate calendar. Something like a unified field theory of time. So, the question still stands. 54 ?

Please explain further. Did you post here by mistake? What do Hesiod and Evola have to do with this and maybe link to the thread you meant to post in. Thank you

I have some sources for you. Not exactly what you are looking for, but they will feed a more global and deep reflection.

Check out this site and in particular its calendar which extends over thousands of years ("Le Quinquennal")
http://incapabledesetaire.com/index.html
Give me an email address and I'll send you the document/book "Le Quinquennal " (he's selling it, I bought it a long time ago, I don't want to put it as a free resource, the guy is trying to make a living by selling his discoveries)

There is a very interesting twitter account that talks among other things about calendars and their time markers (which are animals such as Taurus, falcon etc, or plants). Fascinating.

Hesiod talks about the four ages of man and Evola talks about the cycles of history in a spirtual context

I sent you an email but the address shown here is wrong so I corrected it. I hope that the email reached you !

Otherwise the twitter account indicated is English-speaking, but it is a Serbian.
As for the site and author "French", it is a French-speaking Quebecer.

Yeah np, it’s a really interesting subject. One of my first reasons for shying away from Christianity was when I was a child I heard of the Hindu doctrine of cyclical time and it made so much more sense than the creation-judgment narrative. We reincarnate, the seasons cycle, the plants die and feed other plants.
