Concentrating fire into the base chakra (concentrating the elements)?

I have been doing the concentrating the elements meditation for a while now with good results by concentrating the elements to the appropirate chakra e.g earth for my base and fire for my solar, however on the JoS webpage it states you should concentrate fire into your base chakra, I tried this and it worked however when visualising my base chakra it appeared very dirty and dim after doing this, my quesiton is, is concentrating fire into the base chakra actually a good thing to do? Or am I simply not advanced enough yet do that specific part of the meditation.

I fixed it pretty easily by just concentrating more earth but still, is that meditation using out of date information or is my soul simply not ready to do it?

Fire is the element of purification. No matter which chakra you invoke it to, it cleans it and removes all debris from it. No chakra gets dirty by invoking fire into it. If you visualized it dirty it was because of your idea that only earth should be invoked into it.

The base chakra is the location of the fiery kundalini and fire helps stimulate it, so it's not wrong or outdated.

it is not necessary to breathe only fire into the base chakra. You can play with all the elements and run them through all the chakras. I just don't know how advanced you are.
