As far as I know you just pick a direction for all of them at first, and as you advance you'll feel they're inclined to spin a certain direction, let them do it and stick to that then.

The exact direction is not as much important as whether or not you are really feeling it. Spend less time worrying about the direction, and spend more time getting into a relaxed and perceptive mindset where you can physically feel the chakra vibrating in your body.

Doubts, questions, or similar things can hold you back from having this relaxed feeling and be a distraction.
