Does anyone know what is the mystical meaning of the star Caput Algol?

A hebrew element called "rosh ha satan" which means "head of Satan" was mentioned on wikipedia.
muslims also have something similar.
There was also a related article about Perseus.

Could someone knowledgeable explain the esoteric meaning of this star, or explain what those jewish concepts mean.
Maybe it's something useful that the jews have perverted.

I also thought about the possibility of working using some stars (maybe using some more benevolent ones), or even using them against someone, even if it seems like a more advanced thing.
