The responses here are right on. Australia is terrible. You can't even walk outside without a mask on in some places (I think it was Queensland?) Recently there were reports exploding through the internet on how the police were using microwave radiation weapons at protests. Countless people were posting videos and pictures on how they got burns on their faces. Some reported extreme body pain, headaches, etc.
The politicians there are nothing short of criminally insane sadists. I'd definitely suggest Canada over Australia.
Currently I live in western Canada. The mask mandates are actually being lifted today and not long ago they lifted restrictions for un(altered) people to dine at restaurants.
Things are looking positive overall but it can always change. Trudeau is very cunning but a lot of the normies hate him nowadays. All the false promises, constant segregation and changing of the goalposts have made people fed up with the Government, here and world-wide.
In Western Canada (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan) people are fairly respectful. Alberta and Saskatchewan are more conservative than BC, though the people of BC seem fairly liberal (left) albeit quasi-awake. It's mostly the mayors and how they run things that makes it more liberal; namely carbon-consciousness and nature preservation (the later is positive albeit costly). There has also been amazing push-back there and the people aren't too badly oppressed. They have beautiful mountains, tall pine trees, hot springs, great coffee, wineries and lots farms growing fruit. It's a very earthy and nice place. Alberta (outside of the city) has many farms (mostly grain/livestock) and lakes with a few mountains to the west (near Calgary). There are many trees in the cities and around lakes and acreages. Saskatchewan is a pancake - fields and fields of farmland yet they have several large lakes. The cities there have many trees as well.
One thing to note is their tax rate is 12%, Saskatchewan is 11% and Alberta is 5%. Wages make up for it, though real estate and gas prices are much higher in BC than in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Places like Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick (east) are more like Australia. The police are brutal there and people seem very divided. I've never visited but the videos I've seen coming from those places are far worse than what I've seen here in the west. I'm not too sure about Manitoba but looking at the video reports on bitchute the police seem to have arrested and fined people, barred seniors from restaurants, etc. They also erected some Covid-camps.
P.E.I, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia (farthest to the east) aren't too bad. They have a lot of blue-collar people, lots of fishing etc and there aren't many reports of police misconduct.
Up north (Yukon, NWT) it's fairly blue-collar. Those places cost more to live due of shipping and how there are many small towns. People in Canada don't move there; it's more secluded and built on small communities, many of them native/aboriginal. They do a lot of oil drilling and many people move there periodically for work.
Hopefully other Canadians can chime in. I wish you a safe journey.
