Any practical spiritual benefits to the Saturn square?

I am interested in performing a Saturn square to empower my base chakra as I have not done one before, but the warning on JoS has gotten me concerned, do the benefits outweigh the negatives, searching the forums most seem to suggest that Saturn square improved their discipline but that isn't my goal I am just looking to empower my base chakra, is it worth doing a Saturn square for this, or should I stick with the more traditional methods?

I already have quite a lot of adversity in my life and although I can handle more for the duration of the square my concern is it hurting my family in some way, which is of course unacceptable, is this something that could happen? Outside of serious sickness I cant think of any misfortune that could befall me at this point that I couldnt easily bounce back from other than my family being harmed and I am concerned Saturn would manifest that exact thing in order to "test" me.

If you want it to go most smoothly, you need to prepare a serious defence (remember, daily meditations, study the issue beforehand, the fact that you doubt yourself indicates a weak defence) understand your own weaknesses that Saturn can put pressure on based on your chart, also use different methods of prediction, incorporate introspection.

Saturn will test you anyway, he does it regularly, you don't notice. Be prepared, be strong at all times.
