Is it really true that if you study something for a total of 10,000 hours, you become a master?

Does it depend on what race you are?
IQ level, etc.

Or do you just have to work hard for 10000 hours to overcome everything?

Well if you study and practice something for a particular time, you eventually become a master in it.

It is individual how many hours it takes, 10000 hours is a lot, one can deffinitely master something in such a long time.

It depends on a lot of things, like do you have a talent for it, do you try new technices or only practice the same few things you already learnd? Also, you cannot fully master anything, for example drawing. You can make photorealistic drawings, but there will be always new ideas, new techices you can add to you style.

Of course, if you do something for 10000 hours you should be very good at it, IF you activily try to be better at it. How many hours have you sleept so far? I bet its way more than 10000, but can you remember all your dreams? Can you enter deep sleep within seconds? Escape nightmares and sleep paralisis? Can you lucid dream?

If you want to master samething, you can use visualisation and magic. Its like a cheating code for life, you can succed way faster.

It's not just about the quantity of work, but the quality as well. You need to be diligent and put a good effort in every time. Of course if you are talented, for example you have an high IQ and you are in an intellectual field, it will really help.

The 10,000-hour rule is a generalization and not an absolute truth. Mastery in any field is influenced by various factors, and the number of hours needed can vary based on individual characteristics, the nature of the skill, inherent talent and attributes, and the learning environment.

As for race and IQ levels, intelligence is a multifaceted trait influenced by a combination of genetic, spiritual, and environmental factors. Race is the genetic information of a person. Races create their own racial and cultural blueprints, which, in turn, create plurality in ecosystems, which is desirable by nature. There is a diversity of skills and talents within every racial and ethnic group. Success in mastering a skill is not solely determined by one's race or IQ level, but is rather decided upon by the action of the individual or by the race as a whole.

That would be at least about 5 years if you're putting 40 hours towards it like a full time job. It seems like that should definitely get you somewhere.

lol, sounds like bullshit to me

in my case, i have often reached levels considered "very advanced" in things in which i had no experience at all and sometimes not even interest, simply by applying myself with determination, and in much less time than what would be required in the common imagination, surprising even those who were "experts" in those fields

so, i would say that it all depends on a multitude of factors, it's not that simple nor there is a magic 10,000 hour formula lol
what is certain is that, for example, strong determination, interest and passion, already present predisposition, can surely make a big difference
plus yes, intelligence, in its various forms, can make other differences in learning and its speed, as well as the quality and so mastering whatever

lastly i would like to say that, contrary to what many people think nowadays, everyone can become very advanced in anything, even the most incapable, and there is no fixed standard or limit in this, everything can be changed/shaped as already said

remember, keep an open mind and never set limits, limits don't really exist
