So, I saw a comment from @HPS Lydia yesterday that reminded me of something I wanted to share with the ladies of JOS:
Recently, I was studying into ancient fashion, specifically the sundresses and such that the women from ancient Greece and Egypt used to wear. The thought came to me as I was playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and I noticed how pretty all the dress styles were that the women were wearing in the game, so I went online that day and started looking into the names of the styles of dresses. After a while, I went to Etsy and started looking for modern versions of these dresses. And let me tell you... these dresses are literally some of the most gorgeous dresses I have ever seen in my entire life. I fell in love instantly and started to think to myself, "Why did this kind of fashion ever go out of style?!" So, I'm officially starting a petition for the ladies of JOS to embrace ancient fashion again! Take a look at some of the dresses I've found thus far in my search for ancient style clothing:
(By the way, all the shops I'm going to link, they have many styles of dresses, and the ones I'm going to link are just my personal favorites; feel free to go browse their shops for other styles if these don't suit your personal tastes, ladies)
Dress 1; A dress inspired by Isis that comes in Barbados cherry, white, beige or black:
Dress 2; This one is a set of a bandeau top with a high slit skirt that comes in dried rose or white:
Dress 3; A gorgeous goddess dress that comes in stone, dried rose, beige, black or white:
Dress 4; Another goddess dress with trailing drapes off the shoulders that comes in dark forest green, sage green, brown, off-white and maroon:
Dress 5; A full length maxi dress that comes in black (but she has other listings for this dress in other colors on her shop):
Dress 6; A gorgeous dress inspired by the Nymphs that comes in a multitude of colors:
Dress 7; A black dress inspired by Fairies:
Dress 8; A breathtaking red dress with draping sleeves and with a copper ring accent on the front: (my absolute favorite!)
*(Same dress in white)*
Dress 9; A dress inspired by Helen of Troy that comes in plum or black:
Dress 10; A beautiful goddess inspired dress with strappy accents and cutouts:
Also, while researching ancient fashion, I looked into ancient hairstyles as well. I found a couple different youtube channels that do tutorials for ancient hairstyles, but this one is my personal favorite:
Let me know what you ladies think! I personally am going to buy some of these dresses and start wearing them. I think these styles are absolutely breathtaking and I think women would look so beautiful in these, especially nowadays. I hate how the fashion industry is nowadays, and I literally just seen the other day that Dolce and Gabbana did an ancient Greek inspired line, but of course, D&G is high fashion, which means it's low quality, for high ass prices. Every shop I listed dresses from in this post, I picked from small businesses, because I believe people who go after their dreams and open up a business to sell what inspires them and makes them happy, deserve our money way more than the high fashion industry.
Much love and blessed be, I hope you ladies enjoy
