For any new members really, this is a reminder for two things:
Donating, regardless of the amount, shows an increased devotion in the eyes of the Gods, a willingness to advance the JOS, and a demonstration of one's piety in general. You do not need to donate copious amounts if you can't afford to. Under a $100 is OK even. However, if you are not in a position to donate at all, which is possible, then work towards that goal actively, and know that the JOS and God's are not "compelling" you to do so.
Second, yes, there are benefits to donating, such as advanced knowledge that you are otherwise ignorant of. Naturally, accusations arise because of this, but they are refuted for one simple reason: ALL THE KNOWLEDGE THAT IS AVAILABLE FOR FREE ON THE JOS IS ENOUGH TO REACH THE GODHEAD. Yes, you read that write, you have "for free" what you need to become a Daemon for free. So, any complaints about donations should cease immediately given that fact.
