I know in the old tales, Odin hung from a tree and lost His eye in order to gain knowledge. Through pain and suffering, He obtained wisdom to advance Himself.

Do the Gods send us similar pain when we are ready, so that we advance?

I was raped as a child. This event was foretold in my natal chart, I don’t think it was something I could have escaped. To this day I still stand up to the echoes of it.

The unfolding of my understanding happened at the perfect moment, with the perfect people, and my abuser got his karma in this life. These are the strongest reasons I have to support the Gods may have set this up for me. Because of it, I’ve forged immense willpower, I’ve healed greatly, and I’ve overcome the depths of human depravity.

But our Gods don’t set up these kinds of trials their followers, do they? I feel that things of this nature belong solely to the enemy. At the same time, I know the Gods themselves have overcome great suffering to be where they are now. My instincts tell me not to wrap up this filth with the Gods, but I also know how much I’ve grown and strengthened because of it. I am requesting guidance from more advanced SS on the nature of the Gods, and if something like this could very well be in their plan for a soul.

There is much disarray, curses, dross, and the like in this world currently, and happenings such as the above are the result of these things. It is good that you overcame and became stronger as a result, that is indeed the best outcome from it.
