Probably a bad idea. I don't know about that book, but almost all books that exist about these topics are full of lies and harmful ideas. It may have been recommended just because it has some piece of useful information, but that does not mean that all of it is correct. You need a lot of knowledge, experience, spiritual understanding, and intuition to be able to read things like that and sort apart the good and bad information. Like picking a few valuable stones out from a pile of dirt and mud.
