In truth many were simply tortured to death by the Allies who then said "he took the cyanide pill." Much easier to say that all the German hierarchs of that time had the same non-exiting desire to commit suicide than to say that the partisans who "liberated" Germany from this "horrible dictatorship under which all the people however were happy and Germany prospered as never before" even at the cost of killing and raping civilians (literally the partisans were filthy beasts with civilians. I live in Italy and this is what I was told by several elders who have memories of the time) because they were just criminal Jews and nothing more.
