I never liked my name, not at all. It is an enemy related name. Think of mary, jesus, etc. My dislike is to a degree that makes me feel mad every time I have to write it down, type it, tell my name to someone new. I want to change my name. It is not an easy process in my country. You had to sue your parents to change your name in the past, now it has changed but still a challenge. If I change my name the new name will be a problem at everything. My diploma, passport, ID card, driver's license, other work-related certifications, certificate of ownership of vehicles/real estate... Fighting with family on top of that. They will never accept it. But I *hate* my name.

What do you think about spiritual implications of one's given name/hate of it?

Should I change it? Is it worth the challenge?

If it is that important to you, change it. I have a similar name but who cares? They give half the Middle East these shitty names. Don't blame yourself for it.

To be fair most of the names in the west are shitty christian names.

There is a name for legal documents and name for your friends. I'm not a legal document and your not a legal document. The reason nicknames exist is because many parents suck at naming their kids. If it really bothers you can change it legally, its easier not to care. I hate my birth name as well, in my mind its just another alias and a false identity. Our past lives are probably full a shitty birth names.

That sounds complicated. Names may have power in programming your energies - of course for us SS it's not a big issue as we counter-act against this.
Getting mad at even hearing your name is a sign you are obsessing with this, I think you are giving your name power on you and this is what drives you mad. It is possible unconscious mind accepts this xian name while you rationally refuse it, creating a conflict.

I see two solutions :
- You fight your battle and change your name. You will be happy at the end, because most of your energies will go against enemy programming and enemy seeds you may have in your chakras/subconscious. I think you are fighting against more than a name, maybe repressed hate for how you have been educated, or other issues. Victory here can be therapeutic BUT take in account the counter-actions by your parents who will try everything to keep you as you are now. If they are profoundly xian they will oppose your choice. Depending on your relationship with family, this can lead to freedom (if you have negative relationship with them) or loosing track if you are in a good family.
- You choose a new name and you use it everywhere, with friends, co-workers, etc. I had a co-worker who was never called by his name as he did not like it, he chose to be called with a name similar to "rock" (probably he wanted to resemble stronger and "hard"); he did even sign emails with that name and nobody used his true name anywhere. I do not even remember his true name, most people even did not know it. Except obviously in documents but who cares, you do not sign papers that often. This is the easy choice. You will be able to channel your energies in different stuff, like spiritual war / FRTR and spiritual evolution instead of a giant fight with your family.

I think choice depends on how much time, money and resources you have available, option 1 will require much more effort and - in case you legally loose against your family you may hate your name even more in future.
