Is all types of solar energy good for protection, lr just specific runes

I wouldn't mix a Rune with a mantra from a different source, and Algiz is just too good to not be used for your AoP. So that only leaves out Sowilo to add in.

Yes, and runes such as Algiz, Sowilo, Tiwaz, Thurisaz, Berkano, and a few others. However, one has to construct a suitable one methodically, not just mashing everything together without a good idea. Do not mix runes and Sanskrit in the same session.

Ah, I misunderstood the phrasing then.

What I meant is that Algiz is the quintessential protective energy, so not using it in any AoP feels like a waste, which rules out any non-runes to use with it.
In this case, only Sowilo would use solar energy. If others like Tiwaz do use Solar energy, I didn't know that.

Hmm, if the question was solely about solar energy, and not runes in general then there was quite a bit of redundancy on my post. But at least they now know about many alternative options.
