The one who discovered Uranus, Herschel, was given primacy of the name. So the planet was early on called that, except by interference, the name fell out of use and Uranus became popular.
Neptune was named neutrally by a council as a result of two men disputing whether they discovered it.
Pluto was named by a very intelligent little girl in a competition in 1930. Again, not a coincidence. The Gods intervene.
There is no way the seven main bodies and the three exoplanets would ever be named anything else in the most global language. The minor planets and asteroids in my opinion are also named pretty accurately.
