I absolutely cannot understand how to work with the third eye and finally begin to see with it. I ask you to tell me what you need to do for this, and what to expect in general, so as not to confuse it with simple imagination.
And yes, the chakras are already open, I have been meditating for several years.

Meditating on it, empowering it with Breath and Mantra, and so on (see the 8-fold path on JoS). It needs daily work if you are serious enough, and various stimuli and practice not just the aforementioned, but otherwise. Chakras are open when you are a God, you can't see with your 3rd eye so your chakras can not be open.

You need to focus on opening the small chakras of the third eye.

I have been practicing for months.
I can feel the pressure between my physical eyes very clearly.
I can also see colors floating, even with my physical eyes open. However, when I try to visualize a shape (a triangle, for instance), it appears only for a few seconds and isn’t stable.

While I can hold an image in my thoughts for as long as I want, I am not able to see it with my eyes open.

So my question is: does seeing with the third eye mean imagining very vividly in your mind, or does it mean seeing the given shape as if it were a normal object with your physical eyes?

My situation is exactly the opposite, I can easily visualize objects with my eyes open, but if I close them everything dissolves or unsteadily twitches in the dark.

Ok, but when you say ‘visualize,’ do you mean seeing it clearly in your mind, or seeing it ‘with your eyes,’ like a real object?
