It's possible, though not yet confirmed, that a cyberattack could be behind a widespread power outage in Spain and Portugal.
However, cyberattacks can be stealthy and difficult to trace, as well-crafted cyberattacks can mask their origin. Attackers can leave false clues known as false flags, which points toward different causes such as blaming it on "equipment failures" or "extreme weather". If a blackout happens during a heatwave, flood, or wildfire season, it's easy to attribute the cause to climate change, even if the real trigger was a cyberattack. Governments, media, and even energy companies might genuinely believe it was due to natural causes if the cyber intrusion is subtle enough.
Increase your Aura of Protection just to be sure. If you are able to, conserve battery power on your devices. Store drinking water and non-perishable food if you can safely do so. Prepare a small emergency kit with essentials: flashlight, power banks, basic first aid supplies, etc. If the outage is linked to a hostile act, there could be additional disruptions or cyber incidents.
