Soy and estrogen

Hey, I generally don't like meat that much so I turned to other sources of protein. I grew fond of soy, but I've heard that consuming soy few times a week increases your estrogen levels and such, I'm a man so that's obviously not something desired for me and I tried to look into it, but some sources claim that it's a myth and some sources say that it's the truth so I decided to ask here if consuming soy at least once a week is dangerous for a man.
Also I want to ask if it's true that for optimal muscle recovery after working out(I do bodyweight training) I need to consume approximately 1 g of protein for every pound my body weights or is it just a scam to get me to buy those protein supplements.

Soy does contain a lot of estrogen like substances. Which are actually given to women in the period when their periods stop and they cant get pregnant anymore due to age.

Also be aware to never eat any processed soy products. A lot is nowadays made out of soy and calling it vegan and such while its basicly just trash and shouldnt be consumed.

Muscles arent build on protein alone. Not one cell is. Make sure to eat a healthy balanced diet without crap above all other things.

Also have you thought about milk?

That advice is for stupid bodybuilders who are adviced to buy their shitty cancerous whey proetein.
I have built quite a lot of muscle mass and havent been really checking how much of what I'm consuming, I'm going by heart and I make sure I get my fats, proteins and carbs.(

I see, thank you for answering.
Also I am aware that muscles aren't build on protein alone, but my diet already consists of enough carbohydrates and such so I just want to make sure that I can consume enough protein because as I mentioned I don't like meat too often.
I like milk, but does it have enough protein? The milk I drink has just about 3 gram of protein per 100 gram of it.

They advice against drinking milk in combination with a meal as it would interfere with the absorption or something. Could be utter bs. But if its true it would make sense for the sterilized or pasteurized made in a fabric ones. I dont think it goes for raw milk though.

But yeah I have no source for this.

Just avoid gmo soya. Japanese also eat soya but they dont eat directly and rather have soya milk or make tofu which is soya cheese. Maybe try having soya in those forms than directly as beans

Milk has quite a lot of protein, I always drink it though not for the protein but because I find it tasty as fuck lol, you can make banana smoothies with it and that would be a good pre or post workout

Soy is also basically useless in providing any dietary iron.

The iron in soy is entirely chelated by tannins which block the absorption in the GIT of the iron contained therein entirely.

That is wrong. Muscles ARE built on proteins alone. Carbs only give you energy. They neither build or repair muscles, but give you the energy you need. Fats are for energy as well, but they are slow-release compared to carbs.
The major sources of protein, without going to supplements, are poultry, meat and fish.

I'd also want to add Goats cheese as a potent source of protein.

I'm not sure about the specific amino acids and specific proteins in there, but in terms of grams it has about the same amount per 100 grams as high quality beef and fish on top of other good fats and minerals (such as calcium).

Cheese is also much healthier than processed milk simply due to the fact the minirals are better preserved and absorbed easier by the body.

I advice specifically goats cheese as often I have found it to be better in terms of nutrition than regular dairy cheese from cow milk.

Well it looks like you certainly studied that johnson my compliments :)

Even tought me some things about soy that I disnt know while I had to listen to a whole story about it. (I probably forgot a part).

I advocated meat, poultry and fish because they contain no carbs, while all other foods contain carbs. My meal has evenly balanced quantities of proteins and carbs, which is impossible to do if you don't resort to eating food with no carbs at all.
Thank you anyway for providing the answer that has been driving insane to get: the lb vs kg thing. Calculating how much would've been 0.8-1.6 grams of protein per pound of body weight, getting that seemed honestly too much, while the 0.8-1.6 grams per kg of body weight still didn't convince me very much. Than you for clarifying it.

What do you guys especially Johnson Akemi think on soya chunks or defatted soy. Does having tofu which is soy fat less harmful. Same on soy sauce which is traditionally fermented soy bean without the fibre.

Yeah I usually eat it once a 15 day or once a week. Soy is kind of staple in india and its oil and its flour are used in food and making breads. Soy oil is one of largest used oil in indi and is deemed better alternative to others like sunflower and palm(a really cheap but clogging oil). Personally i use rice bran oil as its physically refined and is better alternative in cooking heat factor of oil. Btw what about tofu as well. Japanese eat it also a lot. I saw its home made recepie. They use a salt as coagulant which can be table salt or Epsom salt to remove protein from soya and remaining fibre is given to animals.
