I am a dedicated satanist and I am also apart of a 12 step program to help with my addiction. The step work I do for the program actually requires a lot of inner spiritual work. I am just posting this to see what types of shadow work you all do and if you have any templates to offer I would really appreciate it. Thanks !

Maybe its not shadow work so much. Trying to find healthy alternatives that gives a similar effects. 12 step sounds like alcohol addiction, are you drinking to cover up pain or is it for partying? At some point it all blends together. Try to find something healthy that fills the void to help rather than ignoring it. Identifying what void the addiction is filling is important. Working out is a good alternative for alcohol addiction for example (for a lot of addictions). Everyone is a little different. The physical withdraws will pass faster than the mental aspects. Addictions are habits on steroids, the best way to break a habit is to replace it with a better one.

There are a lot of different addictions, usually they start off as either curiosity (partying for example) or avoiding pain of some kind. In more extreme cases they are forced. Addressing what the addiction targets and healing that trauma is the best way to get long term results.

shadow work

So, first of all I recommend you some readings that could help you concretely (I admit that I had to research what was meant by "shadow work"):

From my experience I can tell you that repressing a negative will brings the opposite effect, you should direct that will towards something positive. The energetic force can be directed towards self-destructive things as well as towards things full of life, the sermons I have listed above explain this concept well.
Meditation really helps a lot as you know

I would also suggest you to see if any of the following might help you:

The next few things may be advanced, so make sure you know how they work:

For everything, always make POSITIVE statements, don't say things like: "I don't use this thing anymore..."

All this if I understood correctly what you meant by "Shadow Work". If I misunderstood I apologize and ask you to specify better, I will be happy to help you. However what I wrote helps with dependencies so it is valid regardless of the rest.

Personally, for me the best thing has been Astrology.

Your Natal Chart is like a map of your Soul, as High Priestess Maxine referred to it. It will show you where your weak points lie, and you can deal with them accordingly. This is the true meaning of shadow work.

For example, Mars may be debilitated in your Natal Chart, meaning that it is in a weakened state. This could show that you suffer with a lack of vitality and self-confidence, fear of standing up for yourself, prone to fatigue & laziness at times, etc. This could lead you into succumbing to pier pressure as you're afraid of saying no or you simply don't know how to resist. Seeing this, you can begin Yoga and Meditations to increase your vitality as well as build your confidence levels. You may also benefit from implementing a physical exercise routine to strengthen your body as well as your mind, which will bring you more vitality and confidence. You can target the root of the problem to remove the seeds that cause these negative traits. Note - I am not saying this is your issue, I am just giving a general example of how Astrology can be used for shadow work.

Another example is when Neptune is very strong in your Natal chart. The positive side of this could be creativity and heightened intuition. However, on the shadow side, Neptune can make one prone to addiction and escapism as well as self-sabotage. One with a prominent Neptune who finds they are suffering from these negative traits, would benefit from grounding Meditations and practices like Yoga and Qi Gong that bring you into balance. Simply being aware that you have a tendency of escapism will mean you are more able to catch yourself in the act and actively work on grounding yourself in reality.

Lunar Nodes can also be very beneficial in shadow work. Example - North Node in Capricorn and South Node in Cancer, (on the shadow side) can show someone who has a tendency to spend too much time dwelling on the past instead of moving into the future as well as someone who is very attached to their comfort zone. South Node Cancer people can also invest all of their time in caring for those around them, sometimes to the detriment of their own well-being. They may have been forced into a situation like this from childhood. This can show you an area of focus in this lifetime is learning to let go, become independent and move forward, so you are not held back and you are able to grow and flourish. South Node shows where you are coming from in terms of past life patterns and experiences, and your North Node shows where you need to be moving towards in your current lifetime, or where you desire to move towards.

My point is, Astrology can show you very plainly these "weaker" points, so you are able to actively acknowledge and work on them.

The work you do in this life will carry over to your next life, and remove the seeds for these negative traits so you are able to live a more positive life.

As well as showing you potential weak areas, Astrology will also show you strengths that you can lean on and build up to mitigate any negative influences.

This for me is what shadow work is really all about.

I highly recommend studying Astrology. It's a very intricate science and far more complex than what I have mentioned here. But starting somewhere is beneficial. I also don't pretend to be an expert by any means, I am still learning myself as I go. But for me, Astrology has been extremely helpful.

One important thing to mention though - don't let any potential negative aspects in your Natal chart get you down. Looking at your weak points can feel a bit defeating at times, however, you need to remember that these influences are not static and they CAN be mitigated and changed. That is the beauty of Astrology. It's a powerful tool for self-transformation.

I have rambled on a bit, sorry 😂 But Astrology and shadow work is something I feel very strongly about.
