Rule no. 0 - a suggestion

This idea has been suggested by a Brother of mine - I'm posting it officially to the main e-group as an idea to make the e-group more newbies-friendly and spare some time to people who actually do care about guiding the newbies to Satan.

There are these rules on the main website of the group that people joining obviously ignore - some out of haste, others for the sake of trolling and whatnot. Therefore I suggest an idea - adding rule no. 0 with the following contents:

"If you are truly interested in Satanism and wish to avoid asking meaningless questions, sparing the time of those already dedicated who work diligently and with devotion, please study thoroughly www.joyofsatan.com".

In bold, italics and coloured blood-red. Perceptive people will see the link, but my personal opinion is that it should be as eye-catching as possible. Colours there are pastel, so this one single rule is the basic one without which people will be only told the same old stuff after having joined "read www.joyofsatan.com". The benefits of this idea are potentially huge.

I'm with ya here but in a world where warning labels such as DO NOT USE MICROWAVE TO DRY PETS do we really expect people to pay any attention to it?

Right? So basically the groups are a waste of time? The name of the very group is Joyofsatan666. I think people will get it. lol

Far to often people join these groups, don't take the time to read the site and pick up on the vocabulary and feel of the group and fit in without actually taking the time to understand what Satanism is. You also get people who ask where everything is, I can't tell you how many times I've seen people ask where the meditation section is!

Lol then the groups would have half the amount of posts. But really that's a good idea.

Only a narrow-minded individual would consider these groups to be a waste of time (alas, when I see some matrimonial posts I'm beginning to wonder if the people didn't confuse the groups :p). Also, if your perceptiveness and reasoning fails you dear damnplanetsaturn, I will write word by word what my aim is (it is written in the rule, but you might have jumped to conclusions, instead thinking and spotting potential benefits to us all).

Here they are:

- save the time of dedicated disciples of Father Satan so that they could do their job instead of wasting time on newbs answering questions

- enlighten the newbies should they meet with a fake who will wry to manipulate them by either teaching garbage, forcing self-worship (by being an attention whore) instead of focusing on guiding the newbs

- teach the newbs self-reliance and autonomy (here understood as the knowledge on WHEN to ask for help, not being stranded as some may think)

Again, this concerns people who are *genuine* enough in their interest in Satanism - only an utter fool would not deem the arguments commonsensical.

Ok I think we got the Utter Fool part down. Perhaps if you tried teaching the new people instead of insulting everyone we would get better results.

Just an Idea.

You would hope people would get it, but from what I hear from our senior board members, we still get those few who just don't quite get it. Lol

..Hail Satan!! "if you tried teaching the new people instead of insulting evryone"? So, if someone asks a simple question--only requiring a yes/no answer, an lo and behold! they have unfounded accusations made against them, insults..ect. Then what are you, yourself, teaching?

Actually Black Kat I asked a simple question to his Idea. Then I was onslaughted by insults that sounded like they came from a 15 year old kid.

Did you notice that me and Raven had a small disagreement in the groups? Yet niether of our feelings got hurt. We are actually good friends. We were merely debating an arguement to see who had the most correct knowledge. This is how Adults deal with things.

I asked him a simple question and he blew up on me. I give a rebuttle to that and lo and behold black kat, im still the bad guy. Sounds like a personal problem.

Also Black Kat I apologize to you for accussing you of doing black magick on me without 100% proof. I let my anger get the best of me. You must understand, a had a couple years of pent up anger come out of me all at once. Ive been going through alot of changes.

I made a mistake. Although it will not be the last time I make a mistake. I will try not to make that one again.

I extend a hand of alliance to you. Let us work on destroying his enemies and not each other. We are both dedicated to Satan, yes? Then why cannot we act like it? Are we not mature enough to work out a problem?

You are missing a point Damnplanetsaturn. We ARE trying to teach the newer people. Trying to teach them to think for themselves and learn the all important lesson of self study and self reliance early on. (Yes I know I always go on about 'self reliance is key'. But that is because it is so important).
If we are to reply to the simple, uneeded questions with a yes, no, do this or that, then how are they going to learn that they can rely on themselves. How are we going to clear these groups up of useless posts that are wasting space. The groups are here for help in Satanism. Understanding Satan, the Gods, meditation, ritual and sermons of Satan. They are not here for dating advice, or to tell us how you're not doing so good in school (unless of course it has to do with the question your asking/post your posting).

I think the point that was trying to be gotten across is that we need to be spending far less time telling people "go read the website". Because we all know we have better things to do with our time. And not only this. But if people learn early on that they don't need to be told to read the site, and that they can actually go do some research for themselves. Than this is going to be breeding, TEACHING a new generation of Spiritual Satanists to care for themselves and not rely so heavily on outside sources. They are going to become less suseptable to misinformation, because they have learnt to simply ingore these people spreading misinformation. And they won't succumb to these 'false people' that would mean to do them harm and lead them away from Satan, knowingly or not.

You have not been attacked about your 'questioning' of the idea. You have been given more indepth information. Take it is it has been given, and for what it is. And don't jump up and shout 'WOLF'. Remember what your first 'question' was in the first place "Right? So basically the groups are a waste of time?". And perhaps re-read the OP and notice that not once was 'these groups are a waste of time' was mentioned.

Lastly. And please don't take offence, these is not directed at you specifically. But a general message for all who read this. Grow a pair. Toughen up and stop thinking everyone is attacking you, or nay saying your name. If someone calls you a twat, so what, get over it you big baby. We are Spiritual Satanists. Not children on a playground having a fit over someone calling you names. Have some maturity and show it.

I hear what you're saying and admit I went off on a tangent in my reply. I didn't fully get around to the main point I was trying to make in the first place.

Even still, I can't seem to get what I'm meaning out correctly. It is far too hot in Aus.

I still stand by the suggestion. Even if only a few read it and others don't. There is a few people who are getting the benefit of taking the time to read through the JoS thoroughly.

Perhaps something along the lines of putting next to the link to the website "This site contains all the information on who we are and Spiritual Satanism in general. Many of your questions will be answered within."

Hail Satan! Praise the True Gods of Old!

That we should send everyone to the site, instead of helping them here one on one. By doing this, that would Intel exactly what it says, not helping people on the groups. But it's pretty much common sense, Siguard is 100% correct of course everyone should read the JoS before involving themselves in the groups. If they have asked something that is in JoS then they need to read it more. Learning does NOT mean spoonfeeding. If somebody spoonfeeds you you never learn actually and all you're gonna do is be dependent on the person who spoonfeeds you. I've seen this many times from people who keep asking and asking commonsense questions which are answered either in JoS or using logic. These people will never learn to think for themselves, so they need less spoonfeeding and more telling them to think for themselves and use their brain to find the answer.

Here they are:

- enlighten the newbies should they meet with a fake who will wry to manipulate them by either teaching garbage, forcing self-worship (by being an attention whore) instead of focusing on guiding the newbs

One will not join a support forum for a specific software and ask questions like "where I download this software?", "how do I install it" e.t.c.

The meaning of NS is to help your folk in need, no matter how or where he is, we help each other like commrade in folk and we encourage anyone to become great, thus making the circumstances greater for anyone. And this cannot be achieved by leaving people on their own. Sometimes some people need this help, though this help should never become a dependency, that only serves to bulk up the ego of the helper and make the helped on dependable. We give and take back from each other.

That spoon feeding as you put along with who has the spoon is what would concern me. We all know there are people on the groups that claim to be Satanists who are really outsiders. I wouldn't want a new member to be at the mercy of someone like that. If someone took the time to read and understand the site first this would be less of an issue as the new member would already have the necessary understand, just my thoughts on the matter.

..Hail Satan!! Yes, exactly who has the spoon? It is well known that many newbies have fallen victim to infiltrators and outsiders in the past, by wanting to be "mentored" so they could take a shortcut, instead of acquiring knowlegde for themselves. Studying the site will certainly take more time, but they will find knowledge for themselves.
well put! I agree.

Perhaps everyone has become very daft. If you want me to grow a pair, then fine I'll tell you what I think. Siguard Clearly stated something that was very OFF to me. That we should send everyone to the site, instead of helping them here one on one. By doing this, that would Intel exactly what it says, not helping people on the groups. This is a sacred place of learning, especially for new people. To not have this, would be destroying Satans work. I guess only people with real insight could see this.

Now, As for feeling attacked, apparently you didn't take the time to read Siguards second post to me specifically. So let me repost it for you.

Here:
Only a narrow-minded individual would consider these groups to be a waste of time (alas, when I see some matrimonial posts I'm beginning to wonder if the people didn't confuse the groups :p). I gave a witty remark to this, because I thought It was hilarious. My perceptiveness was that someone was trying to destroy the groups and their entire way of working. Then to insult the person who disagrees.

I am done with this post as it no longer made any sense to me a long time ago. I see nothing but twisting of words and clever remarks. All of which push an agenda that to me would destroy the JOS. I did not insult siguard. Which is exactly my point. This is not a discussion it is a lame display of bashing and nothing more. So go ahead continue on about how lame and pathetic and drivel I may be.

As for me, I have more important things to do.

Hail Satan! Praise the True Gods of Old!

I don't know. In all honesty, I do not see how this is being arrogant.
When I dedicated, before I made the decision to do so, I read most if
not all of the site. This I did before joining the e-groups. I do
think that more people should do this, as that is one thing SS is
about, personal study. I think there needs to be some sort of balance
here. Of course we should help our comrades, our family; but there are
also people who do need to learn self-sufficiency. I like En

I personally always felt that almost all Siguards posts are a little too stingy and uncalled for. Never understood why. That is just how i feel. I am not choosing anyone's side on here but the suggestion is good. Almost every information about Spiritual Satanism, to grow and evolve is on the website. Too many new comers come and have the wrong idea about us.

*siiiiigh. Let it go, bro. Let it go.

Sig has often displayed his youthful combativeness. Even I have been a target of his fury, but rather than having it frustrate me, I find it endearing. Like a cub attacking the tail of its mother. I'm a grown man. A 27 year old veteran of an elite military organization. I also love to fight, and I see great potential in all of u. Sig, Damnplanet, Hecticshadow, etc.

Yes, u were being attacked and insulted. Maybe not everyone noticed or cares. It's only a big deal if u make it a big deal. These are family issues we're having, really. A bit of sibling rivalry. And that's ok. We don't have to hold grudges cuz of a little nipping. Right.

Earlier, I posted that I agreed with Sig and how he explained his suggestion the first time, but the second time was a little too much. But for some reason it didn't post. (I'd like to think that it was my phone having a connection problem.)

I understand how it feels to keep answering the same basic questions again and again. It is bothersome. And it gets boring. No one forces another to answer those basic questions "go to the site. Here's the link.". But those who have it in them to do so, let them. Personally, I really have to be in the mood to do it. And I'd rather answer questions that require some effort to answer. Like this one. Not really a question, just an issue.

If we could all meet in person, we can have a few training sessions and sparring matches to exercise some of this testorone in a healthy way, but here we are. Internet. Sitting and typing. I recommend using some of ur youthful energies doing more physically vigorous activities. But don't take my word for it. Haha. What do I know, right.

Hail Satan.

"If you are truly interested in Satanism and wish to avoid asking meaningless questions, sparing the time of those already dedicated who work diligently and with devotion, please study thoroughly www.joyofsatan.com".

I like the idea very much, it sounds good and I would hope that it would work. I can also see were you are coming from as well because you want things to be as best as possible for other memebers in the future and also present.

I know when I firsted joined the e-group I didn't know where the search bar was until a month later haha.

But you have a good idea and I would also like to see what the Hp's think about it.

I like ur idea Sig. However, I think u missed the point that damnplanet had a question mark at the end of his statement and not a period. I'm not that good with sarcasm and I feel that people should mean what they say and say what they mean. I believe our brother damnplanet was indicating sarcasm in his question. He's pretty perceptive and has good reasoning.

Anyways. I like it better how u described having blood-red italics and everything the first time. When u explained it the second time u kinda make it seem like all the newbies do is waste time with simple questions--which isn't far from being true. . .

Anyways, again, I endorse the idea of very strongly encouraging or even requiring newbies to at least glance through SOME of JoS.org and maybe even having to answer a few questions before being able to join and post. But all that might take a great deal of time and computer programming that may or may not fulfill it's end in the long run.

Damn it, you were faster Kevin :p

The Fire Starter pointed out another facet of the issue, and a very important one - thank you very much ^^ Indeed, there are outsiders who pretend to be holier than Satan, but whose agenda is totally different - that of the enemy I'd dare to say. Spoon-feeding = dependency, and this is common knowledge Satanism is about independence. Obviously, posers would like to have the newbs dependant upon them. HAHA, I just wonder how would we help one read? XD

Now, regarding what HP Don said about the idea:

To care for other's well-being is sometimes being harsh to them. Severe BUT JUST. If a child does not fall, it will never stand up, stronger, knowing daddy/mommy were right and it should have listened to them. And in reference to this suggestion, one will be constantly tripping IF he or she does not learn to stand on his or her own. It may be naive to think this way, but people whose intentions are true WILL respect the request and as a result make the 1st step in Satanism to be liberated, possibly avoiding being cheated by lurkers.

HP Don, I know you don't really think this is about hostility, do you. But your advice / idea I will heed nonetheless by answering thusly - it is a matter of HOW we convey the message. Such sentence as "READ THE FUCKIN' LINK!" would definitely be treated as hostile (only posers would resist XD).

Words constitute merely 7% of the whole message (body language 55% and voice tonality 38% - for the curious;)) so it is up to the author of the message to make it concise, meaningful and above all, polite.

Is it really snobbish to tell the potentially interested people to do what they have to do anyway? I can hardly find it arrogant or snobbish.

Proper words may contribute to the decrease of the irritating questions.

That spoon feeding as you put along with who has the spoon is what would concern me. We all know there are people on the groups that claim to be Satanists who are really outsiders.
