That spoon feeding as you put along with who has the spoon is what would concern me. We all know there are people on the groups that claim to be Satanists who are really outsiders. I wouldn't want a new member to be at the mercy of someone like that. If someone took the time to read and understand the site first this would be less of an issue as the new member would already have the necessary understand, just my thoughts on the matter.

But it's pretty much common sense, Siguard is 100% correct of course everyone should read the JoS before involving themselves in the groups. If they have asked something that is in JoS then they need to read it more. Learning does NOT mean spoonfeeding. If somebody spoonfeeds you you never learn actually and all you're gonna do is be dependent on the person who spoonfeeds you. I've seen this many times from people who keep asking and asking commonsense questions which are answered either in JoS or using logic. These people will never learn to think for themselves, so they need less spoonfeeding and more telling them to think for themselves and use their brain to find the answer.

Perhaps everyone has become very daft. If you want me to grow a pair, then fine I'll tell you what I think. Siguard Clearly stated something that was very OFF to me. That we should send everyone to the site, instead of helping them here one on one. By doing this, that would Intel exactly what it says, not helping people on the groups. This is a sacred place of learning, especially for new people. To not have this, would be destroying Satans work. I guess only people with real insight could see this.
Now, As for feeling attacked, apparently you didn't take the time to read Siguards second post to me specifically. So let me repost it for you.
Here:
Only a narrow-minded individual would consider these groups to be a waste of time (alas, when I see some matrimonial posts I'm beginning to wonder if the people didn't confuse the groups
). Also, if your perceptiveness and reasoning fails you dear damnplanetsaturn, I will write word by word what my aim is (it is written in the rule, but you might have jumped to conclusions, instead thinking and spotting potential benefits to us all).
I gave a witty remark to this, because I thought It was hilarious. My perceptiveness was that someone was trying to destroy the groups and their entire way of working. Then to insult the person who disagrees.
I am done with this post as it no longer made any sense to me a long time ago. I see nothing but twisting of words and clever remarks. All of which push an agenda that to me would destroy the JOS. I did not insult siguard. Which is exactly my point. This is not a discussion it is a lame display of bashing and nothing more. So go ahead continue on about how lame and pathetic and drivel I may be.
As for me, I have more important things to do.

I hear what you're saying and admit I went off on a tangent in my reply. I didn't fully get around to the main point I was trying to make in the first place.
"The groups are here for help in Satanism. Understanding Satan, the Gods, meditation, ritual and sermons of Satan. They are not here for dating advice, or to tell us how you're not doing so good in school (unless of course it has to do with the question your asking/post your posting)."
Even still, I can't seem to get what I'm meaning out correctly. It is far too hot in Aus.
I still stand by the suggestion. Even if only a few read it and others don't. There is a few people who are getting the benefit of taking the time to read through the JoS thoroughly.
Perhaps something along the lines of putting next to the link to the website "This site contains all the information on who we are and Spiritual Satanism in general. Many of your questions will be answered within."

The suggestion while well meaning. Amounts in reality, to be hostile to new people and sets a tone of arrogance and snob behaviour which will create a climate opposite to the one needed for the purpose of the groups. Which is to educate people and that is helping with questions, even if it just takes a polite link.

You are missing a point Damnplanetsaturn. We ARE trying to teach the newer people. Trying to teach them to think for themselves and learn the all important lesson of self study and self reliance early on. (Yes I know I always go on about 'self reliance is key'. But that is because it is so important).
If we are to reply to the simple, uneeded questions with a yes, no, do this or that, then how are they going to learn that they can rely on themselves. How are we going to clear these groups up of useless posts that are wasting space. The groups are here for help in Satanism. Understanding Satan, the Gods, meditation, ritual and sermons of Satan. They are not here for dating advice, or to tell us how you're not doing so good in school (unless of course it has to do with the question your asking/post your posting).
I think the point that was trying to be gotten across is that we need to be spending far less time telling people "go read the website". Because we all know we have better things to do with our time. And not only this. But if people learn early on that they don't need to be told to read the site, and that they can actually go do some research for themselves. Than this is going to be breeding, TEACHING a new generation of Spiritual Satanists to care for themselves and not rely so heavily on outside sources. They are going to become less suseptable to misinformation, because they have learnt to simply ingore these people spreading misinformation. And they won't succumb to these 'false people' that would mean to do them harm and lead them away from Satan, knowingly or not.
You have not been attacked about your 'questioning' of the idea. You have been given more indepth information. Take it is it has been given, and for what it is. And don't jump up and shout 'WOLF'. Remember what your first 'question' was in the first place "Right? So basically the groups are a waste of time?". And perhaps re-read the OP and notice that not once was 'these groups are a waste of time' was mentioned.
Lastly. And please don't take offence, these is not directed at you specifically. But a general message for all who read this. Grow a pair. Toughen up and stop thinking everyone is attacking you, or nay saying your name. If someone calls you a twat, so what, get over it you big baby. We are Spiritual Satanists. Not children on a playground having a fit over someone calling you names. Have some maturity and show it.

Ok I think we got the Utter Fool part down. Perhaps if you tried teaching the new people instead of insulting everyone we would get better results.
Just an Idea.

Here they are:
- save the time of dedicated disciples of Father Satan so that they could do their job instead of wasting time on newbs answering questions
- enlighten the newbies should they meet with a fake who will wry to manipulate them by either teaching garbage, forcing self-worship (by being an attention whore) instead of focusing on guiding the newbs
- teach the newbs self-reliance and autonomy (here understood as the knowledge on WHEN to ask for help, not being stranded as some may think)
Again, this concerns people who are *genuine* enough in their interest in Satanism - only an utter fool would not deem the arguments commonsensical.

Far to often people join these groups, don't take the time to read the site and pick up on the vocabulary and feel of the group and fit in without actually taking the time to understand what Satanism is. You also get people who ask where everything is, I can't tell you how many times I've seen people ask where the meditation section is!

This idea has been suggested by a Brother of mine - I'm posting it officially to the main e-group as an idea to make the e-group more newbies-friendly and spare some time to people who actually do care about guiding the newbies to Satan.
There are these rules on the main website of the group that people joining obviously ignore - some out of haste, others for the sake of trolling and whatnot. Therefore I suggest an idea - adding rule no. 0 with the following contents:
"If you are truly interested in Satanism and wish to avoid asking meaningless questions, sparing the time of those already dedicated who work diligently and with devotion, please study thoroughly
www.joyofsatan.com".
In bold, italics and coloured blood-red. Perceptive people will see the link, but my personal opinion is that it should be as eye-catching as possible. Colours there are pastel, so this one single rule is the basic one without which people will be only told the same old stuff after having joined "read
www.joyofsatan.com". The benefits of this idea are potentially huge.
