Rituals Returning curses

I’m going to do a Returning curses Ritual. The problem is that people who I know that they put curses on me is my closest family (they are all xians). Can I still do this Ritual ? I was reading on JoS website, that this Ritual should be done also over pets, but can I do this also over my baby to protect him ?
