The stereotype that we would be "mean" is based on the fact that the "spiritual" narrative that people have heard for the past years is that you should love everyone, turn the other cheek and all your enemies are just misunderstood and sad. Any time a spiritual movement tells one to stand up for themselves and what is right, this is "left hand path", this is "black magic", it has to be labeled as something else.
True spirituality understands both empathy and boundaries.
No, you shouldn't use spells in order to directly raise someone's interest in spirituality. This kind of infringement on free will can push people into things when they are not ready, and result in even more time being lost as this person will likely not be compatible with spirituality, and they might be afraid to tackle it again for 10 more years, whereas if you never did anything, they might naturally enter the path after just 3 years (only examples here).
Advance yourself within the path, and people will realize it is good by your fruits. If people see that SS are consistently more intelligent, have better lives, are happier, richer, etc., they will simply not be able to push away the evidence, and start studying it.
