Ok I was looking at this the wrong way but I still have doubts... Theta and Alpha brainwaves are associated with creativity... Sacral chakra rules creativity... So how does Mars, a stimulating and aggressive planet rule the sacral chakra? Doesn't this mean it indirectly rules theta and alpha brainwaves since they are increased during creativity??
Nope. Just because one thing is associated with some other things, does not mean those other things are directly related. Mars rules sacral chakra, but Neptune rules creativity, so does Neptune rule sacral chakra? No. And the sacral chakra is not the only part of the soul where creativity comes from.
The soul and the body are more complex. You'll understand in time
But the bottom line for this conversation is, Mars will not help with trance. As Ol Argedco wrote, it will make you jump up and run away instead.

Also in the JoS void meditation page it states
Void meditation can be done with your eyes open or closed. When your eyes are open, you will more than likely see a mist around objects as you settle into a trance state. This is normal. If you choose to close your eyes, you may fall asleep, but this is an individual choice and use whatever method works best.
And I myself have fallen into trances after focusing on my breath for 1-1.5 hours
Yes, but that doesn't mean void itself causes trance. It certainly helps though.
