I did Mars square to increase vitality. I expect to sleep less. But on the contrary, I sleep more than before. Why is that?

Mars square can show its effects differently during the time period when the square is made. For example, if you are doing this for sexuality, you may have a lot of libido during the study period, but this will start to progress in a healthy way when the study is over.
