How can Mercury be in retrograde? Unless I am mistaken, only planets that are rotating slower than the Earth can ever be in retrograde, since a planet being retrograde (appearing to move backwards in the sky) is caused by the Earth overtaking it, causing it to appear to be moving backwards. Does it count as Mercury being in retrograde if on Mercury Earth is retrograde?
A related question: How does astrology work in other solar systems? Eventually we will be a solar empire, and we will then start colonizing outside of our solar system. Will colonists of those future worlds have to worry about planets in our system being retrograde? Or is such an effect locally tied to each individual solar system?
