Greating!
This is the third time, I spend my time and energy on recreating an illustration to Milton's Paradise Lost. This pieve took me five weeks during a very, very rough time, when saturn tried to break me, and I never felt that isolated and lost. This piece get a lot more melancolic, especially if we compare my first two, but thats how life is sometimes. Even in the darkest times there is light, if not outside(since the sun wont shine here), then inside.
A few words about it:
I love the greek warrior/god kind of potrayal of Satan the original illustrations went for, just switched out the usual batlike 'demonic' wings to something more fitting
Also, I was tired always drawing a spear and a shield, so He have a flamberge now. The reason is, because its blade look a bit like a snake
