Dude are you fucking serious? You recommend a total beginner to Invoke fire?!
This is an advanced meditation! The advanced aspect of pyrokinesis!
You know it is „advanced“ for a reason right?
I'm guessing that you haven't personally tried invoking the elements yet and that's why you seem to be overreacting? And by the way, this isn't "advanced pyrokinesis" that's a completely separate page underneath. This is just plain simple element handling, not some advanced extra high level element handling. This is the very basics of it. It isn't my fault that the elements are under the column that says "Advanced" on it, if they were in the "Intermediate" column you wouldn't care. But I think the Intermediate column was already too full, so it looks nicer to put things in a third column. Does this scare you? Just simply being slightly to the right on the page? Because that is also where "Tuning Chakras Through Vibration" is, and I consider this to be probably the single most important thing for beginners to do, after opening the chakras. Also the same column as "Breathing light into your pineal" and "Spinning your chakras fast" Are these meditations too scary and dangerous for anyone to have a little try, because they're in the "Big bad Advanced column"? Would you be so scared if I recommended Water? Or Air? What's the difference, all the elements work together. All the elements have equal potential to be a bit uncomfortable or even dangerous if misused. And all of them are perfectly harmless, even for total beginners, if they just try a little bit.
You just assume that it's something difficult or dangerous, when it really isn't if you're at least a little bit careful. I didn't say do it in huge amounts. There's warnings on that page to go slow with it and start a little at a time, so I expected him to respect these warnings and go slow which is perfectly safe. I don't really believe in those types of limitations, "You aren't allowed to try this because it says advanced on it" I never restricted myself from trying anything like that, I started as an absolute beginner trying everything especially the stuff that says advanced. There isn't anything unsafe about invoking a little fire as long as you start slow and don't do it too often. Invoking the elements is perfectly safe, unless someone is willfully ignoring the warnings and doing way too much more than it recommends. I suggest everyone to at least try all the elements. There really isn't anything on JOS that you can't try.
If something is too much for you, all that will happen is you will simply feel that it's too much and you won't do it anymore, but there's no harm in trying. The only possible harm would only come from repeatedly overdoing something way past the point that you already feel that it's too much. But there isn't anything wrong with testing your boundaries or trying something new. It might even be exactly what you needed.
And this isn't some meaningless idea from me with no basis either, as a very beginner, I have invoked way too much fire before. I mean literally the month that I found the website. It was somewhat on purpose, I knew I was going way past the recommended amount of breathes, and I wasn't breathing it back out. The worst that could happen is just being really hot and uncomfortable for a little while, but then it's obvious to invoke water to balance it out. Then maybe feel a little weird for a couple days, I mean emotionally from the big increase of fire and water. But you balance it out and you're all good. As a total beginner, I invoked too much of all the elements at some point.
But this was never from doing the number it recommends on the page, the only discomfort was only ever from doing much more than recommended. I'm definitely NOT recommending to do what I did, but at the same time I think of it as a harmless learning experience. Nothing but some temporary mild discomfort for a short time. And I personally know from this that it is totally harmless if you at least have the common sense to listen to the recommended number of breathes. Starting small how it says to and just getting a feel for the elements, it's not only harmless, but it's important just to get a taste for them.
And I know from personal experience, if you are in an very cold environment you can easily keep yourself warm by expanding the sushumna and invoking fire. He said he actually can't be in his room because it's so cold, this is the way to fix that.
Everybody should read every single link on the meditations page, and judge for themselves what you are ready to try. These meditations often work together, being on a slightly different side of the page doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. NinRick, I think you should take a couple breathes of fire, or any other element of your choosing, just to see it really is absolutely harmless if you start small. There isn't much reason to make any sort of limitation "You can't try this yet." The only way to see where a boundary is is by taking a bit of a step towards it, there's nothing wrong with this.
