I do it before and after, I wouldn't add anything else during a Kundalini session, as it should be packet and fully focused on the exercises themselves. The flow of the exercises shouldn't be stopped, ideally. As well, the exercises themselves forces the body and breath to have the likeness of the purifying fire.

While doing Kundalini yoga, the bone tail can spark and open for the electricity to buzz, which will have your whole focus and care upon the situation. This is of course a personal preference and view. The arousal of the purifying fire can occur within the breathing exercises as well as in the session, it matters to be aware to clean and expand to the best ability the areas in which the fire will start to expand.
The breathing exercise open the channels for purification, the Kundalini session is there to expand it and advance the stage.

Kapalabhati opens and prepares the body for the Kundalini energy to enter, which would naturally be so during the Kundalini session, and after it in meditation.

Do as it suits you, this kind of experimentation can be done as long as it is under awareness and judgment over the consequences you feel and observe.

What matters the most is to master to correct moves and then further apply the consciousness to fully express the energy you are calling for and cultivating.

No it’s more so that doing the Kriyas quickly with quick and powerful breathing is similar to the breathe of fire. It’s basically the same thing.

But as the other guy said, you can do the breathe of fire before or after if you’d like.
