For those of you who wish to know how you can protect your lungs and bolster them given the current world events, here are some simple pointers to overall improve lung health (I won't be including obvious things like not smoking and exercise as these are fairly simple and obvious):

- know the lung's function. The lungs job, in conjunction with the large intestine is to open. Open to the outside world.. Open to let out metabolic waste (CO2 in the case of the lung).. Alveoli open to receive oxygen.. Etc. Keeping yourself from frustration and anxiety enables the lung to continue opening, just as sighing when frustrated creates a feeling of relief, so using breathing exercises assists when one is anxious.

- know the lungs emotional governance. The lung governs grief and sadness. Avoiding sadness and grief and dwelling on these feelings helps to ensure the lungs stay strong. They are easily made weaker by sadness and grief.

- know the foods which support the lungs. White foods support the lungs, particularly pungent white foods such as radish, turnip and white fungi. Peaches support the lung through the earth /metal nourishing cycle as do apricots and sweet potato.

- do not overwork. The lungs govern qi and are easily affected by a lack of qi. Ensure adequate rest and do not push yourself wherever possible.

These are small and easy things you can do to give your lungs a fighting chance against anything that might seek to attack them.

Central thank you for writing this :) Can I ask you something, do you think if someone has skin problems is there any problems with the Lungs?

Is garlic good for it? It's white and pungent.

And does spicy food really increase the metabolism and energy processing? I think that has been my experience.

I put garlic, cayenne powder, and hotsauce on almost everything I eat. Sometimes also with cumin and sage. And I feel like it helps my health.

The lung controls the skin as the pores are a function of opening so in short, yes absolutely.

Thank you this makes sense for something that I have, I think I've read somewhere that the gut is connected to the lungs which also makes sense. I'm constipated and bloating and I think this may be IBS (i have not been diagnosticated for it), I'm using magick to fix this and I think it's connected to the skin problems that I have plus the seasonal allergy which is probably connected to the lungs.
