I'm not an expert in this area, so I won't write an article about it, I just wanted to share a video that I have seen. It is very valuable information, and the technique used in the video called "mind palace" is of course is from our ancient ancestors, specifically from Hellas.

In the video, a woman managed to memorize 3000+ digits of pi, while she always had a bad memory.
It's also worth to mention that our memory becomes better with our soul advancing. Our soul is actually memorize everything, and everything is being stored in our soul. When we advance, we become more connected to our soul, and we gain better control over it. This includes being able to remember better, as our soul stored it.

Here is the video:

I’ve always wanted to try memory palace, but I wonder if it's feasible to follow along for a long period of time and lots of information.

I think it is important to see what other relevancy you have about the topic you are studying/ trying to remember. In the video it said something about creating your own system (enconding) with an object and action, then associating them. Therefore, it is memorable.

I am curious why it seems easier for some people to remember using random association and not … older information you know?

Like, group new ideas together with the old facts you understand and think about the relationship between them (any patterns you observe? does it fit in the context? how is it different? why is it different? how does it relate to the end thing, and so on)

I find it much easier to recall things when I firstly make my own understanding about the concept. Also spiritual workings with Mannaz/ Berkano help with the whole process.

Mind maps are interesting to use as well, and they basically seem like a form of memory palace. There is this person, Justin Sung on yt and his take on learning is quite interesting!

I know this might seem very obvious to others, but I had no idea how to actually study and remember stuff until very late... a lot of education systems only focus on remember this and remember that, otherwise you get a bad grade  Like why do I need to remember word by word, but I cannot find any use of what I know...
Phew, semi-rant over.
Thank you for starting the topic!

Yes, basically that's the point of it. When you remember to something, for example, a math formula, you might remember to a picture you sitting in scool.
Also, when you try to remember to your very first memory, it will be a picture and not a number or something raw, because our memory works with pictures, but we can sort of program these pictures, so it contains more information, for example a number or a feeling.

You might talking about understanding. Understanding when you can connect the dots and understand what is it how it is where it is ect.. This STILL memory, but a more developed one, and it is also the ability to be able to connect the memories and find the common things in them. I think this comes with intelligent and soul power.

Yes because understanding builds a strong relationship between the memories(knowledge) and yes, that helps.
Mind maps are just how our brain works, it is not a choosable thing. The technique is basically the right usage of memorizing.

As an example. You know what does "+" do because you learned in first grade. If you would go deep into your soul, the first memory where you understood the plus sign was probably in first grade. When you understood the plus sign in first grade, It was because you had memory of the phenomenon of things being added together, for an example in a tv show. So in first grade you understood the + sign because you could connect your memories.

Our memories are being stored as energy circuits connecting the brain cells. It is a very complex system but basically they make a picture in your head that can contain more than just itself, as I said, a number, a feeling, or a smell. When we try to memorize a number, it will memorize it, but it will also associate it with a picture, maybe it's the picture of the present, or a memory. If you connect that number to an old memory, well, the old memories circuit will be expanded with this number. If we do this on purpose, and our brain does not have to do it automatically, we will also know that now that memory also represents that number for us, which is a kind of fake understanding, which makes the number more memorable, and you will be able to remember it better. If we don't use this technique, our brain will most likely memorize the present, and if we don't know about this, the memory won't be strong, and most probably, that "present' is not so memorable, because you are not aware of the present and you are not focused on details which your brain cold use.

When you understand things you just connect the dots in your head, which makes them stronger as they now have logic behind them. This is complicated and there is depth in this, as I said, I'm not an expert in this so I should not talk about something that I don't fully understand. Maybe I'm not even correct or not 100% correct.

The technique is basically taking advantage of how memories works, that is the only important thing.
