Helping a friend

I'm a fairly new ss. I have a friend who's dealing with bad depression and I'm afraid they might hurt themselves. We live really far away and can't see each other often. Does anyone know anything l can do like certain meditations or rituals to help?

I don't believe it's a good idea for u to do any kind of working to ur friend. U can ask father as was recommended but that's about all. 
Sense ur still new, ur prob won't be able to help them none the least others can correct me but helping them in a meditation or work may connect ur self to them and that may hinder u.
Besides that u can tell them family that he or she maybe endanger of hurting them self's.
Other wise becareful.
