This is an added bonus, and it doesn't necessarily have to occur in the same form of aspect. Here's an example to make this clear:
In your natal chart (the astrological chart of the moment you were born), you might have Venus in sextile with Jupiter. This is already a favorable aspect because both Venus and Jupiter are considered "benefic" planets—associated with success, luck, and positivity. On top of that, the "sextile" aspect between them is also harmonious and amplifies their combined energy. You can look up more about what each aspect means (like the angles and degrees) to better understand how the energies of the two planets interact.
Now, let’s say that in 10 days or 3 months, there’s a live transit where Venus forms another sextile with Jupiter. This is fantastic because not only does it bring luck and positivity in real-time, but it also activates the existing natal aspect you already have. The combination of Venus and Jupiter is said to be one of the most favorable in astrology, although every aspect has its own benefits and no single one guarantees "everything."
Also, keep in mind that the transit doesn’t have to occur in the same exact relationship (sextile) as in your natal chart. It could be a conjunction or trine instead.
